  • those who have died Reginald Prior, Freda Ing

If you are visiting us for the first time we would like to get to know you better. Please fill in one of the yellow welcome cards and hand it to someone on duty before you leave. Better still, stay and have a chat over a cup of coffee after the 10.00am service. Children and young people are welcome to join the groups which meet during the service. Please feel free to take a toddler to the children’s corner at the back of the church if they are getting restless, but do stay with them.

The chapel is available as a quiet place for prayer after services and whenever the church is open. Please feel free to take advantage of it.

Please keep the car parking space in the churchyard free for the disabled and frail elderly. Thank you.

Spire Brand Marmalade: Will next be on sale TODAY, Sunday, 4th November. Jilly B

InSpire: Material for next edition of the magazine to Richard H. by 24th November please.

Use It or Lose It: Have you ever been to Evensong? We get good congregations for our Choral Evensongs and special series of services in Advent and Lent, but sadly the ‘ordinary’ fortnightly Evensongs are not well supported. Those who do attend appreciate the space for quiet worship, the music (using traditional chants which are part of our Anglican heritage) and the opportunity to pray and hear a sermon. Why not try it, you may be pleasantly surprised. Richard

Thursday Teas: on 8th November will be an outing to a Garden Centre, leaving church at 1.45pm. If you need a lift from home, please contact Phyllis (T.672006). The next teas in the Parish Centre will be on 13th December.

Thursday Group Raffle: At our last meeting, Eunice Goodman created a painting in the style of Monet. When she has completed it she is more than happy for it to be raffled to raise more funds for the RNID. We thought it would be rather nice if everyone had the opportunity to win this wonderful painting. Raffle tickets will be on sale each Sunday and the winning ticket will be drawn at our meeting on 15th November. Tickets costing £1 can be purchased from either myself, Jan Cheek or Sue Hinchliffe. Thank you for your support. Sonya

Coffee Evening with Chocoholics & Christmas Cards: Wednesday, 7th November at 30 Mallow Park at 8pm. Everyone is welcome for a sociable evening, with the commission from the chocolate sales going to help street children in Guatemala, and from the Christmas cards to the Eczema society. Chocoholics brochures are available for pre-orders, see Ann Burdett (T.631486) for more details.

Knick-Knacks: Helen Poynter would like to borrow cowbells, lederhosen, etc. for the Austrian evening in January.

Swimarathon: Please note that the Swimarathon is a week later than usual and is on Saturday, 12th January 2008. As usual St.Luke’s welcomes everyone willing to swim, support , or sponsor.

St.Luke’s FINS (Friends in Need of a Swim): are swimming every Tuesday at 2pm at the Leisure Centre. All sexes, ages, sizes, shapes and ability welcomed! Meet in the foyer at 2pm. (free to over 60’s). Further information if needed from Jean T-D (T.626671)

Windsor Pantomime – Cinderella: If you would like to be part of the St.Luke’s Group going to see Cinderella starring Wayne Sleep, Jan Leeming and two ‘Any Dream Will Do’ finalists at Windsor Theatre Royal on Friday, 4th January at 7.30pm, please see Ann or Richard Burdett as soon as possible. Tickets are £17.50 each and we have our usual prime location at the front of the stalls, which is good for catching the sweets!

St.Luke’s Wexham Park Hospital Team: Our team is now in desperate need of more members. Sadly two of our team are moving away which means we will not have enough people to fulfil the task of taking worship to the patients, friends and staff of the hospital. We do need between 6-8 people to successfully share both our Christian Faith and an act of worship. Sadly, I feel it will mean that if we cannot field a team I will have to inform Paul Deeming (Chaplain) that we will be unable to take our part on the rota. Our commitment to this is about 4 Sundays a year. If you feel you can help to share the love and worship of God with those whose need is great, then please do contact me and I will be happy to explain further what is needed. Many thanks for your consideration. Sonya Clarke (T.671795)

Maidenhead Drama Guild Christmas Pantomime: We have 20 tickets remaining for the ‘Panto at the OK Corral’ at Desborough Suite, Town Hall, Maidenhead on Saturday, 1st December at 2pm. Afterwards we will have hot dogs, jelly and ice cream in the Parish Centre. All-inclusive tickets are £8.50 for adults and £6.50 for children. Please see Ann Burdett (T.631486) if you would like to go.

Maidenhead Care: Can you help? We need more Duty Officers to answer calls from clients and arrange suitable volunteers to help them, if we are to continue our complete Monday – Friday service to the community. One day, or even half day each month would be invaluable, and friendly training will be given. For more details please contact Ann Hockham (T.627496) or Jan Cheek (T.628484)

St Luke's Tours - Trip to Keukenhof Gardens, Amsterdam and Volendam. There are still 6 spaces left. Everyone is welcome until we have sold all the places!
