Better still, stay and have a chat over a cup of coffee after the 10.00am service. Children and young people are welcome to join the groups which meet during the service. Please feel free to take a toddler to the children’s corner at the back of the church if they are getting restless, but do stay with them.

The chapel is available as a quiet place for prayer after services and whenever the church is open. Please feel free to take advantage of it.

Please keep the car parking space in the churchyard free for the disabled and frail elderly. Thank you.

Prayer Letters:
There are some which need delivering this month. Please look at the back of church if you can possibly help in any way. It is good if these can be delivered before they are mentioned on the news sheet. Thank you.

Wexham Park Hospital Team:
Our next visit to take the service will be 27th July. If you would like to come along and help take God’s love and message to both patients, staff and family, please contact me on 671795, and for those who regularly give their time, please confirm that you are available and accept my thanks and appreciation for what you do. Many thanks, Sonya.

Join a Committee?:
Well, it may not fill you with great excitement but our small number of P.C.C. committees do good work and are interesting (and even fun!) Please look at the display at the back of church and sign up if you are interested. (You don’t have to be on the P.C.C.) Richard H.

Thursday Group AGM:

Please share cars if possible. Phone Leader for further details and, if wet, to check that the walk is still on.

Parish Outing to Gloucester 19th July 2008:
I still have 17 seats to fill, so please consider a good day out with friends from church and make our Parish Outing a success. For further information, please contact Sonya (t.671795)

If you could, please bring your own seat and if required any alcoholic beverage for your own consumption. Tickets will be available from TODAY from either myself or Sue Hinchliffe. For further information please contact me on 671795). Many thanks Sonya.

Mums & Toddlers:
We now have a leader and one committee member but would like at least another two committee members by September to run the group. It meets on Thursday mornings during term time. Please see me if you can help. Richard H.

‘What a Man?:
Please take a leaflet if you are interested in our Summer Art Project from 20th to 24th August. In particular we need to be collecting recyclable material (details on leaflet). On Saturday 24th there will be a social event, a fashion show with a difference! Do join in.

Quiet Gardens:
Stoke Poges is open on Thursdays from 1st May to 17th July. Programmes available near the bookcase. For more information contact Enid (T.628195) B.R.F. also have 2 more Quiet Days advertised near Henley. If a group of 5 go together, 1 goes free, thus cutting the cost for all.

CRoW – The Berkshire Churches Trust Sponsored Cycle, Run or Walk:
13th September. This event which raises funds for both the Trust and for St.Luke’s is rather special this year being the grand finale for Ben Darracott. He has led our team of cyclists visiting local and not so local churches for many years and would like to hang up his helmet and see someone else take over next year. This gives us all a special opportunity to support Ben and the team when the sponsorship forms come round. It is also an opportunity for anyone who feels they might be able to take over as leader or take part as an individual in future years to get some experience while Ben is still leading. Note that although at present those we sponsor are all cyclists, it is equally possible to be sponsored for walking or running between churches or even for being at St.Luke’s on the day as a welcoming steward. Contact Ben or myself for further information. Roger Bevitt.

‘Midsummer Nights Dream’ Open Air Theatre:
and picnic or buffet supper.. Maidenhead Drama Guild are performing this classic Shakespeare play in the open air within the grounds of Berkshire College of Agriculture, Burchetts Green, on Tuesday 22nd July. The performance begins at 7.45pm although the grounds will be open from 6pm if you wish to bring a picnic. Alternatively you can book a pre-theatre buffet supper which will be served in the main building, Hall Place mansion, which is a beautiful listed building. The great advantage of this open air performance is that it will go ahead whatever the weather, as it will be transferred to one of the lecture theatres if it is inclement. Tickets cost £11 for adults and £9 concessions; buffet supper is £13.50 per head. Judging by last year’s experience, the supper tickets sell out very quickly. If you would like to join the group from St.Luke’s then please give your cheque (made payable to St.Luke’s PCC) to Ann Burdett as soon as possible or tel.631486)
