This group over the years has changed its name on several occasions. It started out as Young Wives, then became Wives Group. After some years, with numbers declining another change found our group being called St Luke's Thursday Fellowship, all this while the group was specifically for the ladies of church and the parish. Numbers continued to decline and eventually the name was changed yet again to St Luke's Thursday Group, but the most important change was that the group was now open for any of the men to join. With this change numbers increased and the Group has thrived since.

So what do we at St Luke's Thursday Group do?

Our year runs from September to July, and during this time we meet on the third Thursday of the month. As a group, each year we nominate a particular charity for which we fund raise and at our Annual General Meeting, which is held in July, we have pleasure in passing quite a good amount of money to said charity. Funds are raised through two jumble sales during our year and by a raffle at each monthly meeting. Members also have other ways and means of donating to our fund raising efforts.

During December leading up to Christmas, we also take the spirit of Christmas to our parishioners in the form of Carol Singing around different parts of our Parish. Any money collected from this is given to The Children's Society.

Our annual subscription fee is £5.00 and at each meeting members pay £1.00 and non-members £2.00. This money goes towards paying for any guest speakers we may have and towards the monthly refreshments of tea/coffee and biscuits, anything left over is then given to our nominated charity.
